angry, inferno
Dairy-case tortelloni stuffed with proscuitto and roast chicken, topped with comes-in-a-tube pesto is the working woman's equivalent of ramen noodles.  Dinner ready in eight minutes from the time I walked in the door.

Well, it's right.

A Happy Song to My New Shoes

Me and my BIG SHOES, don't have hurtful feet!
Me and my BIG SHOES, life can be so sweet!
Me in my BIG SHOES, happy every day!
Me in my BIG SHOES, bouncing all the way!

Year of Abundance...

... does not include books. It probably should... but it doesn't.
Because I have my limits, and my limit is somewhere short of not getting
to buy books.

It includes yarn, until I use up at least some of what I have. And
embroidery cotton. And, I guess, fabric, given that I have many many
projects-worth of good fabric. Paint, yes, paper, yes, glass, yes
(except that I am out of good yellow, which is Not to be Borne.) And it
doesn't include oxygen, because all those people who played at my house
put a visible dent in the tank, and it's time to get a refill (this is
not a gripe; I'm glad we're using the tank, it's been sitting there for
two years, a refill is due.)

It doesn't include shoes. I just bought new shoes, because the
podiatrist said to, and they are white with fuschia trim and man, oh man
are they ugly. She said to think of them as if they were a cast, and
not to engage in aesthetic critique. Pfeh.

coming up fast...

Only 294 days until Pennsic.

I am so not ready.

In fact... I haven't even made a project list. That's probably what should be number 1 on the to-do list... if I ever find my to-do list. Which is with my cell phone, in whatever Safe Place I put my bag-of-life-organization when I took off for Italy.

Surely no one would break into my car and steal just my bag-of-life while leaving all other things intact? Because other than me, who would need it?

Impact of flooding

best war ever
If the sea level rises 14 meters, it will still not flood my house. This is why I live on top of a hill.

However, it will make getting to work kind of interesting. Fins and a mask time.

"Mr. Mulloy's traveling companion, Robert Cusack, was not, initially, as lucky in getting animals out of the airport. Federal agents were tipped off to some unusual happenings when large birds of paradise came flying out of his luggage, and it was soon revealed that Mr. Cusack had other smuggled fauna and flora, including more birds, which had been stuffed into women's stockings, and 50 rare orchid bulbs. Most notably, as Monday's indictment recalled, Mr. Cusack had concealed two lesser slow lorises, also known as pygmy monkeys, in his underwear. ... Mr. Mulloy's method of concealment is not unprecedented. Among the nation's greatest hits in the wildlife smuggling oeuvre were snakes in the pants of a man crossing the border in 1997, noticed by border control agents who saw his khakis moving in an unusual manner."
